More and more online marketers are utilising social networking sites, it has been found.Facebook and Twitter have emerged as the most linked-to sites in email marketing campaigns. In its analysis of email data, website Email Data Source has revealed that Twitter was used in 9,506 email marketing campaigns in June.This is compared to the beginning of the year, when only 1,181 companies linked through to the site.In January, Facebook was used most in email marketing strategies, with 2,491 email campaigns containing links to the site.However, it was overtaken by Twitter in March and has continued to see an increase every month.In 2008, the number of marketing emails linked to Twitter increased by 1,081 per cent, according to Email Data Source.Marketers have been given a helping hand when it comes to using Twitter for marketing purposes.Twitter 101 has been launched by the site to help brands increase visibility.
