A leading direct marketing industry organisation has announced the finalists for its upcoming awards ceremony.The Chartered Institute of Marketing has revealed the bodies that have been shortlisted across the 18 categories including in its national Marketing Excellence Awards, which will take place at Grange St Paul's Hotel on February 17th.David Thorp, director of research and professional development at the organisation, said the awards were created to "highlight the fundamental role" marketing plays in many sectors.He added: "The entrants demonstrated the innovation and creativity needed to demonstrate good marketing practice and innovation, even during the current financial downturn. "The diversity and creativity of the entries resulted in much deliberation by the judging teams to judge and mark the final and worthy shortlist."Earlier this month, the Chartered Institute of Marketing recognised several of its top students with a series of awards at its international graduation ceremony, which was held at Birmingham's Symphony Hall.
